Job Description

New Zealand Football is seeking expressions of interest for an Assistant Coach for our Men’s Under 16 National Team

You’ll be assisting the head coach with the planning, implementation and continual improvement of the team programmes which will include assisting with player identification and monitoring, technical preparation at trainings and match days, analysis of team and opposition performances, providing feedback and support for players and staff as well as other duties.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • strong and varied communication skills
  • a minimum OFC / NZF B licence (preferably A or Pro licence)
  • experience working with young elite footballers in a head coach or assistant coach role
  • knowledge and experience in using SportsCode/Hudl

You’ll need to be based and available to work in New Zealand as this requires ongoing liaison with players, coaches and clubs as well as a commitment during 2025 of approximately 3-4 weeks for pre-camp and the OFC U16 Championship, success at which will mean taking the team to the World Cup in 2026.  Applications close 5pm Friday 25 October.
